If you're using "< >"; American comic book shorthand for "translated dialogue", then "tovarishti" inside is wrong.MaGnUshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06351888054411049033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-29886409999490736462009-11-23T01:53:02.865-02:002009-11-23T01:53:02.865-02:00Yes, Donald, doing that in a dialogue is a mistake...Yes, Donald, doing that in a dialogue is a mistake. You can do what you say while writung narrative, but in dialogues you must open and close the bracket in every speech ballon.
In any case, if you want to open a bracket at he beginning of the character's speach and close it at the end, you do that in every baloon, not in some of them.Fd.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10547591405697285390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-79305884326530837072009-11-22T21:54:21.520-02:002009-11-22T21:54:21.520-02:00Is that a mistake, leaving < open and not closi...Is that a mistake, leaving < open and not closing it >?
I seem to remember when reading english prose and a person is speaking for more than one... caption (? don´t know the correct word, in german it´s "Absatz"), it was the usual m.o. to begin every block of text with that sign (< or << or " or whatever) to indicate it´s still spoken by that person, and when the speech is over, there is one end sign (> or >> or " or whatever). And seeing as this is one long speech by Natasha in three connected balloons it looks correct to me?

But that´s not my guess for the dissection. Might be that they use the russian word in the english translation in the brackets. Everything else is english, so why use tovarishti?

I hope it´s not the small e on eBay :)Donald313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-73284261123865179892009-11-22T19:28:43.207-02:002009-11-22T19:28:43.207-02:00YEAH!YEAH!Fd.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10547591405697285390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-58197564467301998332009-11-22T16:45:00.130-02:002009-11-22T16:45:00.130-02:00No, that's good point, they left two brackets ...No, that's good point, they left two brackets open... but that's not it.
