No Plural-S there. The act of throwing dice is "würfeln". Sounds funny now that I think about it.
"I want you to die" obviously translates to "Ich will, dass du würfelst".Donald313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-77578669443120848952010-09-30T00:13:00.710-03:002010-09-30T00:13:00.710-03:00I knew about Daniel Young and Waverly Sayre, but t...I knew about Daniel Young and Waverly Sayre, but they were not chosen by the Guardians. And I like the sector thingy; but they can team up and overlap whenever they need it. Kinda like real cops.

David: Guy's just being his dicky self, and a bit figurative. It's not a dissection at all, except for the Honor Guard thing.

Thanks for reading, guys!MaGnUshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06351888054411049033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-35616390161908968012010-09-29T22:11:01.690-03:002010-09-29T22:11:01.690-03:00Gah, should have noticed the lack of tattoos---got...Gah, should have noticed the lack of tattoos---got distracted thinking there might be something wrong with their staffs.

For this week's DT, Guy Gardner's rocking some nice pre-Silver Age amnesia. Let's assume Alan Scott doesn't count, since he wasn't properly a member of the corps. And he says "guys," so maybe he's intentionally not counting Jade for some vaguely misogynistic reason (also, she was picked by Kyle, not the Guardians/rings). He's still a dope.

The four current, overlapping Lanterns from Earth are the only Earthlings (other than Jade and/or Alan) to be Green Lanterns. Hence Sinestro's snide comments about Earth when Hal was being trained. But they're absolutely not the only 4 people to watch over Earth. Lanterns are assigned sectors, not individual planets; the previous Lanterns of sector 2814 just weren't from Earth. Most notably, there was Abin Sur, who gave the dang ring to Hal in the first place, so you'd think Guy could remember him. Big pink fellow from outer space apparently doesn't leave much impression.

Then again, considering it's Guy Gardner talking, it's hard to say whether this is a writing dissection or just Guy being a doofus.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13631743840776360363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-85715237179754559592010-09-29T22:10:22.187-03:002010-09-29T22:10:22.187-03:00Ignore that.

Rayner & Gardner are Honor Guard or Honor Corps or something, with a roving commission. They ORIGINATE from 2814 but do not currently SERVE there.

On a side note, the whole 'you are the lantern of sector XYZ' has never worked. Johns & DC ed even admitted as much when they 'lifted the prohibition on Lanterns teaming up' (not that it was ever consistently enforced). Anyone have any ideas how the Corps structure could be consistently and plausibly written instead?Darrynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19261226.post-90960498016980007442010-09-29T22:01:32.971-03:002010-09-29T22:01:32.971-03:00What no DT???What no DT???Darrynnoreply@blogger.com
