The Dissector #109.

DISCLAIMER (angry creators, please read)

[[WARNING! THIS COLUMN MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS!]]

"Oh look, they even have flying prostitutes. That's service for you." Rag Doll II, about Chesire, Secret Six V3 #5.

Yes, yes, I've been slacking. Not really, though; I've been very busy with other stuff. If you speak Spanish; do check the webpage for the online radio show I'm part of, Perdidos En El Eter; we'll be airing our show once a week on two separate stations; Friday nights on Radio Antsholic, and Saturday nights on unaRadio; plus last Sunday I started doing my own live show, playing some music and talking about it, Ruidos Molestos, also on unaRadio.

Back on track, voting on the Autopsy Awards 2008 are still open, so please swing by that link and vote, okay? Then, Dissector's Picks Of The Week; the Best Book Of The Week was again Amazing Spider-Man, this time issue #582... I love a Peter Parker that thinks. Worst Book Of The Week was... another Spidey book... Spider-Man: Fear Itself. Pointless, and boring. Now, dissections!
<-------------------------------->
"SEASOÑ EIGHT."

TITLE: Buffy Season 8 (Dark Horse).

ISSUE: 21

CULPRIT: Richard Starkings & Comicraft's Jimmy (letterers).

DISSECTION: The size of an "Ñ" is incorrect.

DISSECT-O-METER: 7 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
"CBLE."

TITLE: Cable V2 (Marvel).

ISSUE: 10.

CULPRIT: Duane Swierczynski (writer).

DISSECTION: "Westchester" is spelled "Westchster".

DISSECT-O-METER: 3 Bazzars. Also, Snakebyte gets another badge for reporting that the recap uses "its" instead of "it's".
<-------------------------------->
"WITH AN ACCENT ON MISTAKES."

TITLE: The Dissector (Studio Robota).

ISSUE: 108.

CULPRIT: MaGnUs (writer).

DISSECTION: "J. Corbin corrects me; the word for the accent mark in Spanish is "acute accent", "accent", "accent mark" or even "diacritic". Tilde is actually this one: "~" . Badge for him.

DISSECT-O-METER: 7 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
"HULA-HULA-RU."

TITLE: Detective Comics (DC).

ISSUE: 852.

CULPRIT: Paul Dini (writer).

DISSECTION: "Uluru", the correct name for what was formerly called "Ayers Rock", is incorrectly spelled as "Ularoo"

DISSECT-O-METER: 5 Bazzars. Also, colorist John Kalisz, Tasmanian Devil's fur should be reddish brown, not bright orange.
<-------------------------------->
"CHINGA TU MADRA!"

TITLE: Haunted Tank (DC/Vertigo).

ISSUE: 02 of 05.

CULPRIT: Frank Marraffino (writer).

DISSECTION: I let some of the Spanish language mistakes from issue #1 slide because I could assume that the Hispanic character might not really speak Spanish well, as it is the case with many second and later generation Hispanics in the US... but saying "madra" instead of "madre" (for "mother") is just not acceptable.

DISSECT-O-METER: 7 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
"BROWN-EYED SCRAPPER."

TITLE: Marvel Super Hero Squad: Hero Up (Marvel).

ISSUE: One-shot..

CULPRIT: Chris Sotomayor (colorist).

DISSECTION: Wolverine has blue eyes people, not brown, not even in a wacky kids comic. And no, the toy it's based doesn't have a brown-eyed Wolverine either, the mask doesn't show his eyes.

DISSECT-O-METER: 7 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
"IN HIS NAME."

TITLE: NYX: No Way Home (Marvel).

ISSUE: 05 of 06.

CULPRIT: Marjorie Liu (writer) and/or Joe Caramagna (letterer).

DISSECTION: "Dios", the Spanish word for "God" should be capitalized if you're talking about Jehovah (or whatever other name you want to use); just as in English.

DISSECT-O-METER: 5 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
"WHAT A VIXEN!"

TITLE: Vixen: Return Of The Lion (DC).

ISSUE: 04 of 06.

CULPRIT: G. Willow Wilson (writer).

DISSECTION: Again; Vixen is said to be from the fictional nation of Zambesi. The country is M'Changa, Zambesi is the village.

DISSECT-O-METER: 8 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
"WAR OF DISSECTIONS!"

TITLE: War Of Kings Saga (Marvel).

ISSUE: One-shot.

CULPRIT: Michael Hoskin (writer)

DISSECTION: Check this one out, I know you can find it. By the way, these free "Saga" books are a great idea to bring people up to speed on events.

DISSECT-O-METER: 2 Bazzars.
<-------------------------------->
So, a 5.5 Bazzars average on eleven dissections. Let's just end this, quick and painlessly, with one Moment Of The Week. What does Thor fight for?

Yeah, exactly! That's it for now, until next time, I'll be on the outlook for more dissections, because (almost) nothing escapes...

A spelling error, it should be "Terrigenesis".

And is the radio show literally called "Annoying Noises"? Because that might put some people off listening, heh.

You got it, badge for you. And while "Ruidos Molestos" literally means something like "Annoying Noises"; it's also the term here for "Noise Infraction"; when you make too much noise with a party or such...

It's supposed to refer to what old folks or people with closed minds might think about (just part) of my musical tastes.
